Activities
Kinderskool is full of friends. Every day, children count on smiles and hugs from teachers and spending fun time with other children. Group games, stacking blocks and singing songs all give small children a chance to talk, share, giggle and learn together. It's so much fun that when kids think they're playing, they're actually developing and learning skills that help prepare them for school.

Meals
At Kinderskool children sit down to a well-balanced home cooked meal and two nutritious snacks every day. We know that kids' days go more smoothly when they have delicious, nutritious food, fresh air to play in and plenty of opportunity to get the wiggles out - all part of our commitment to promoting children's good health and physical development. You may choose to provide lunch for your child, which is also permitted.

Visits
Parents are busy people, so we do our best to make it easy for you to deal with Kinderskool. Stop by and you'll see how we welcome parents any time, have easy drop-off routines and flexible scheduling to meet your needs. And when you come, bring your child along! We encourage parents to visit Kinderskool. You will enjoy seeing what goes on during our busy days and your child will appreciate your attention.

Call our director to talk about your child or come and participate in our activities.

Location
Kinderskool is located in the friendly neighbourhood of Notre-Dame-de-Grace. Our Centre is near a beautiful park area (William Bowie) where the children can run and play under the careful watch of our staff. We take daily trips to the park, to play ball, swing on the swings and climb the jungle gym. Fresh air is an essential part of our day – every day!

Age Groups
Kinderskool encourage interaction between children of different age groups. Ours is like a family setting where the kids interact more like siblings than classmates. Younger children learn by watching the older ones interact, and the older ones learn to be patient and caring towards the younger ones. Our government permit allows 5 infants and 24 children aged 18 months to 5 years.

Our Groups

Our "Little Apples" (6 months -18 months)
Our experienced staff provides the loving care babies need because we understand a child’s first years are so critical to future success. We work closely with parents to develop routines that meet your family’s needs.

Our "Leap Frogs" (19 months -3 years)
We encourage these small, busy people as they investigate their growing world. Hugging and cuddling are a big part of every toddler’s day. At the same time, these small people are busy finding out new things about themselves and those around them. Beginning to talk. Trying to walk. Learning to listen.

Our "Kinder-stars" (3-5 years)
Kinder-stars’ activities include singing, reading, creative art and plenty of time for social interactions. Our caregivers follow the children’s lead, responding to their interests, needs and developmental level. This is all part of helping them be ready for their school years.

Toilet Training
Most parents eagerly anticipate toilet training as a milestone in their child's development — if for no other reason than that it means an end to changing diapers. But few moms and dads are prepared for how long it can take. Yes, some children get it within a few days. But many more can take several months.

At Kinderskool, our patient staff helps put forth good habits from very early on. Once we have assessed your child's readiness skills, we:

  • create a routine
  • explain the process to the child
  • foster independence
  • handle “accidents” gracefully!

Believe it or not, when your child is ready to learn this new grownup skill, he will. And with our help, the process shouldn't be too painful for either of you. Your child will eventually be trained, and you won't have to think about it again.
